The Lost Characters of Arrow

With the show Arrow now gone and no indications regarding the spin-off, it has left people reeling for more. Many have stuck by the show since it’s debut; in spite of some of its pitfalls, and many have wanted to see some things added on to the show; such as new characters faithful to the comics and lore. So, here are five characters that could have been added to the Arrowverse.

Number 5: David Drayson/Slingshot

Slingshot

Admittedly, David Drayson does make an appearance in the show; as a minor note on the first season’s primary focal point in The List. In the comics, he was a young man who grew up in a poor part of Star City known as The Swamp. Seeing the police as nothing but a symbol of persecution and having a strange obsession with slings, Drayson became a psychotic cop-killer. They could have easily put his story in line with Quentin Lance, trying to bring him to justice while also fearing for his life considering his line of work. It would demonstrate that as corrupt and flawed as the police system is, that there are admittedly some good cops out there who are just trying to do their jobs effectively as possible and genuinely want to do good in the world.

Number 4: Lester Butchinsky/The Electrocutioner

The Electr0-Cutioner

Here’s another person who made his debut on The List. In the comics, Lester Butchinsky was the second man to take on the mantle of the Electrocutioner after his brother died. The Electrocutioner was eerily similar to Oliver’s attitude in the first season; taking justice into his own hands, but with the use of a uniquely made suit that generated electricity.

They could have easily put in a story-line with Oliver trying to get him on a better path, in a similar vein to Huntress, but ultimately see that this vigilante cannot and does not want to be redeemed.

Number 3: Lady Shiva/Sandra Wu-San

Lady Shiva

With the introduction of the League of Assassins, it was practically a crime not to include this bad-ass assassin into the Arrowverse. In fact, before getting the role of Nyssa al Ghul, Katrina Law had thought that she would be playing this bad-ass assassin. While she’s one of the greatest assassins alive, she eventually left the League of Assassins; primarily functioning as a free agent per her own interests. This has allowed her to function as both a ruthless villain and a heroic vigilante; which also allowed her to mentor several characters in the DC universe.

This undeniable bad-ass would have been able to function as a mentor to Laurel, Thea or other characters beyond Oliver. While also driving the heroes and villains insane because of her own interests and desires; making her a loose cannon to every sense of the word. No one would be able to tell just who’s side she’s really on.

Number 2: Sportsmaster

Sportsmaster

In the comics, Sportsmaster was a criminal by the name of Lawrence “Crusher” Crock. Crock was a highly competitive person who excelled in playing every sport but wasn’t a good sportsman himself; as he did whatever it took to win until it got him banned from playing professionally. As a result, like any disgruntled and dejected person in comics, he decided to head down a path of villainy.

There was another person who had taken on the moniker, and that was a young meta-human named Victor Gover. Gover was in the same line as Crock, but had been accused of taking steroids, and got banned due to it. While we will be getting Sportsmaster soon enough, whichever iteration of Sportsmaster they could have used, it could have delved deep into the legalities and behaviors of professional athletes as well as the drive and need to succeed in playing any sport professionally.

Number 1: Cheshire/Jade Nguyen

Cheshire

It’s practically a crime that Cheshire was not introduced into the Arrowverse! Especially since she’s considered an integral part to the Green Arrow comics. In the comics, Cheshire had become a skilled assassin at an early age, due to being sold off as a slave. Learning guerrilla warfare and marrying an assassin, she quickly became known as one of the world’s most ruthless mercenaries. Later down the road, she would meet Roy Harper and had a brief romance with him, which would result in the birth of their daughter, Lian.

Cheshire could have easily been introduced as a new member of the Chinese Triads or an apprentice to China White. There could have even been subtle hints of a potential romance between her and Roy, with some light flirting and teasing. Or in time, have given Cheshire control of the Triads.
