Quirky Combos

The entire cast of My Hero Academia demonstrates an amazing and terrifying abilities within the heroes and the villains in the story. With there being so many, it’s inevitable that some might compliment each other, making two heroes compatible partners. While some powers may be formidable in the hands of two individual people, just how powerful could they be if they were rolled into one? With the implications that it could be possible with the revelation of the recent manga chapters, there are possibilities that are quite endless. Here are some combinations that could be great if they were able to actually be.

Sandstorm + Hardening

Red Riot Unbreakable
Hero Costume

Regrettably, we did not see a lot of the Sand Hero Snatch but he did have an amazing quirk. He demonstrated great versatility before he bit the dust. Pun aside, if it was combined with Kirishima’s Hardening, it would lead to a devastating combo. While there’s nothing wrong with Kirishima’s Quirk, it doesn’t really stand out as he had mentioned himself. Aside from that small issue; Kirishima is limited to melee fighting and close range combat because of it. Combined with Sandstorm; it could offer more long-range capabilities and added defensive capabilities.

Electrification + Magnetism

Magnetism

There is nothing but untapped potential in Kaminari and his Quirk. Magne’s Magnetism Quirk can magnetize a person’s entire body or specific portions. Once magnetized, the targets either attract or repel each other, depending on whether they’re of the same sex or not. Men are polarized south and women are polarized north, which is represented through a blue and a red aura, respectively.

Everyone has an electrical field around them. Virtually every single process which is keeping you alive can be traced back to an electric field that some component of your body is creating. With his Quirk, he could have a more solid handle in how to use and even control it. But Kaminari’s drawback with his ability is not only over-usage but that it’s more suited in a long-range capacity. Combined with Magnetism, Kaminari could expand his potential and overall range (4.5 meters) in utilizing it in close combat alongside the use of a support item with some solid form of hand-to-hand combat. Hell, if Kamnari isn’t careful, he might damage someone’s nerve endings.

Fiber Master + Tape

The ability to generate tape sounds pretty weird at first glance but has capabilities in trapping and/or rescuing others. The ability to control any known fiber in the area sounds crazy but amazingly versatile. A combination of both could be devastating. Sero can use Tape to capture a target, as a grappling hook to scale buildings, to move quickly through a large area like Spider-Man, or to pull someone out of the way in a dangerous situation. But he has limits as repeated use of it can cause him to suffer from dry skin. And Fiber Master isn’t strirctly limited to the fibers from someone’s clothes as well. In the spin-off manga Vigilantes, Best Jeanist uses his Quirk on metallic bridge wires, spun by metal-fibers, to support a collapsing building by manipulating them as he does with his clothes. With proper training and experience, Sero would be able to become a full-fledged trap/rescue type hero utilizing this stacked combo Quirk.

Explosion + Landmine

Explosion was already a powerful Quirk. But in the hands and mind of Katsuki Bakugo, it became one of the most versatile things to have been created and feared. Especially given Bakugo’s naturally nasty and explosive disposition. Like most Quirks that are passed down, Explosion was the perfect combination of his mother’s and father’s quirks; this allows Bakugo to excrete nitroglyceric sweat and use it to create explosions. Landmine is an ability that nearly rivals the destructive feats of Explosion, as it allows the user to turn anything s/he has touched into a bomb. Combined together, these abilities would truly make Bakugo a true lord of murderous explosions.

Brainwashing + Confession

Shin Nemoto Introduction
Hitoshi I win

Shinso’s Quirk is extremely powerful but due to it’s overall nature, it makes him quite villainous. In spite of it’s raw power, he realized that he needed to improve himself, which led the way for Eraserhead to train the young hero. Even with his added physical capabilities, Brainwashing is powerful but has several limits to it: Shinso can’t make anyone do anything overly complex and can’t use electronic devices when using it, as the effects are negated. But he learned to work around the latter with the use of a mask that allows him to alter his voice to anyone else’s.

The Quirk Confession allows the user to learn the true thoughts, secrets, intentions, and feelings of allies and enemies alike, allowing for information gathering, psychological torture, and the like. But Confession is quite literal, and it can be worked around to a degree. Combined; it would make Shinso a versatile hero. Very much like his mentor Eraserhead but audio based instead of vision based. A true hero with a villainous ability.

Big Fist + Strongarm

The ability to make one or both of your fists bigger than normal sounds weird but is used effectively. The ability to rotate and move your shoulders at extreme speed and power sound dull but is insanely strong. Now imagine if those powers were completely and evenly mixed. Combined with her martial arts skills and level of control, Itsuka would have massive strength and able to mitigate any drawbacks this combo may have. If she could easily crush tungsten, one of the hardest metals in the world, then imagine what kind of devastating strength she could implement with her original quirk combined with the raw power of Strongarm.

Shield + Hardening

Red Riot Unbreakable

People have often said that the best offense is the best defense. In this case, it would be more literal than ever. Before being eliminated by Tomura Shigaraki, the Shield Hero Crust demonstrated grate versatility with his Quirk. Shield allowed him to create stone-like, hexagonal shields from his body that could be utilized both defensively and offensively. He could also detach the shields from his body, allowing him to throw them as mid to long-range weapons or provide protection for his allies. Combined with his current Hardening Quirk, Kirishima could be the Ultimate Defense Hero. He would be able to defend anyone with ease instead of simply using his body as shield for others.

Black Whip and Slide and Glide

Slide and Glide Quirk

If there is one thing that most if not all fans of My Hero Academia know, is that Kohei Horikoshi works were heavily influenced by many Western Comics. In the Vigilantes spin-off manga, this is rather prevalent with the protagonist Koichi Haimawari. His Quirk Slide and Glide, alongside his usage of the name The Crawler, brings to mind so many references to the infamous Wall Crawler. Even as his Quirk continues to grow alongside him, just imagine if he was a bit more like Spider-Man. Even with the color more reminiscent to Venom, imagine if The Crawler had this ability added on top of his own Quirk. Combined with his rising abilities to shoot out a repulsion force, this would truly make him A MENACE!!
