Being the main focal point of the series, the Straw Hat Pirates have had new members added on. While the Heart and Kid Pirates being their main rivals, they haven’t received a lot of new members and development. But there is a theme that is in them, with the Kidd Pirates having a steampunk aesthetic in their dress manner and ship. According to SBS, Trafalgar Law’s crew has an overall arctic/cold animal theme to it. Law’s animal motif being a snow leopard. Given his cool disposition, knack for coming up with calculated plans, and spot-patterned attire, this can be seen as a rather accurate comparison. Bepo being a polar bear, and all the other known crew members are named after an arctic animal of sort, with the exception of one: the former pirate captain Jean Bart. While many have been talking of adding more members to the Straw Hat Pirates, Law needs to add some more people to his crew. And Eustass Kidd as well.
One thing that should happen first and foremost, is to upgrade one current member in Law’s crew, and that should be Jean Bart. After talking with one of with a couple of friends, I think there might be an opportunity for Jean Bart to get an arctic-themed DF and overall power-up; Jack the Drougnt’s. By now, we know that when a DF user dies, the DF returns to circulation and respawn to the closest fruit around. With comments on how much darker One Piece seems to be now, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Jack being killed and his Mammoth DF respawning somewhere. Jean Bart may make an appearance soon enough along the Heart Pirates and find and eat it.
KIller has been Kidd’s best friend and first mate on his crew. He’s recently ate a failed SMILE Devil Fruit, which essentially gave him nothing more than the ability to laugh like crazy and let him drown like any other DF user. The speculation that he will be cured of this affliction is rampant but there is the distinct possibility that Killer could gain a Devil Fruit for himself. I had heard a theory of Killer taking on the Yamata Orochi Devil Fruit. While its not without the realm of possibilities, it could allow him to become more of an equal to Zoro; potentially matching his Asura form should he unlock it’s hybrid form. But this would also leave Zoro as the only normal person among the Eleven Supernovas, so it’s up in the air as to whether Killer should gain this ability and simply be cured of his current affliction, or cured of his affliction and gain some type of power-up in the process that would still leave him as Zoro’s equal.
Starting off with the Heart Pirates, would be Bellamy the Hyena. Bellamy has become significantly more powerful since the time skip. Able to use his DF powers effectively and utilizing Armament Haki. With more training and even developing Observation Haki, he could utilize the full power of his DF, using it to change trajectory as quick as possible. While not wanting to be a subordinate, he did decide to keep a piece of Luffy’s Vivre Card in case he needed it. Currently, he has retired from piracy and is living as a dyer. But it’s likely that Bellamy will eventually return to piracy. Bellamy is loosely based off of the real pirate Black Sam Bellamy, who while had a short career as a pirate, ultimately lived a wealthy life due to having captured 53 ships. This could play into Bellamy returning to piracy. He could end up a staunch ally to Luffy in reforming his own crew or by acting as a subordinate to Law and fundamentally joining him.
There is the distinct possibility that once Kaido is defeated and/or killed, the Beast Pirates will rapidly dissolve and this would lead to an influx of new members. Unlike other crews that seem to care for each other or have a sense of loyalty, they are based off a meritocracy; meaning that it’s possible to rise to the ranks based off strength and abilities. The most notable members that could likely join up with Kid are the dino siblings; Page One and Ulti. Being siblings, they’re a bit of a package deal but also come with their own personality and powerset that could greatly benefit Kid’s crew as a whole. They can both transform into full-fledged dinosaurs and take on a hybrid form. As aggressive Page One can be in his Spinosaurus form, he’s surprisingly serious and shy. Ulti is rather aggressive and quirky, often exasperating Page One as any annoying little sister is wont to do. Having them joining Kid’s crew would present a unique take on a sibling dynamic that could go from being generally loving if annoyed to the perfect fighting duo within the span of a second, then back to annoying each other in record time.
Amidst the Heart Pirates, Sasaki seams likely to fit in the crew. Powerful as he is, he also appears to be rather calm and amiable if rather mocking. A former captain in his own right, he also commands the Beast Pirates Armored Division, which is made up of SMILE fruit users with defensive capabilities. Amidst having capabilities as a leader, Sasaki demonstrates to be a good fighter alongside his ability to transform into a triceratops. In addition to once having been a former pirate captain, joining the Heart Pirates would demonstrate that Law does not discriminate in having a Fishman as part of his crew. With Bepo in his crew as his first mate and navigator, it’s a keen demonstration to that. This would also make his crew mirror Luffy’s in a way (should Carrot actually join the Straw Hats), as well as give him someone close to a right-hand in terms of overall power.
Among the rest of the Flying Six, Who’s Who and Black Maria are rather divisive. Who’s Who’s full identity has not been revealed but it is currently known that he was a member of CP0 and Rob Lucci’s near equal. Who’s Who is likely to join the Kid Pirates, considering that he’s a wanted man by the World Government who holds certain secrets. He may not share the same views as him but he does share his apparent love of causing destruction especially after his imprisonment. And like Kid, holds a disdain towards the pirate captain “Red-Hair” Shanks. Black Maria is a volatile sadistic woman who holds an affection for Kaido. It is unlikely for her to join the Heart Pirates or the Kid Pirates, as she seems rather devoted to the Beast Pirates or simply Kaido. She is arguably more of a wild card than Who’s Who, and the least likely to join any other pirate crews.
From there one, it’s just wild speculation as who and why any member would want to join either the Kidd or Hearts Pirates. One theory has gone around that a ninja or samurai would likely join Law’s crew, and this could be possible in one of Kurozomi Orochi’s personal ninja squad. The one likely to join, in my opinion, would likely be Chome as she seems to be the most recent recruit and the youngest at 14. It’s also quite likely that Law could recruit one of the failed SMILE snake users, in reference to how snake venom could be used to help in heart attacks, heart failure and high blood pressure. It’s currently unknown what happened to “Iron Boy” Scotch from the Beast Pirates, but he seems likely to join the Kidd Pirates, as he fits the aesthetic and would make it reminiscent to Luffy; having a cyborg on his team.
Regarding the rest of the Beast Pirates, it’s quite likely that X Drake would take them under his wing. It could be similar to Smoker leading the G5 Marines. Drake would be reforming several rowdy unscrupulous pirates into something close to the respectable justice-driven Marines. This would also further aid Drake’s position within the covert Marine SWORD unit, and all the unknown members and leader(s) as they would need more people to properly reform the Marines.
